Band

Students in grades 4-8 of any ability are welcome to join. Beginning Band (grades 4–5) and Advanced Band (grades 5–8) meet on Fridays. All rehearsals and lessons take place during the school day and are offered through Encore Ensembles.

  • Lessons and rehearsals begin on Friday, Sept. 11.

  • Encore Ensembles offers instruction on: flute, clarinet, oboe, alto and tenor saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, and percussion (drums and xylophone).

    • An instrument

    • Relevant supplies for that instrument

    • The lesson book, Essential Elements Book 1 (for your instrument)

    • Music stand for practicing at home

  • The cost is $74 per month per student. If you would like to pay for the full year at once, it is $603 ($67 per month). Fees are paid to Encore Ensembles directly. Funds go toward paying your band teacher, administrative costs, and operating expenses for the program.

  • Local places such as Eckroth Music, Groth Music, and Schmitt Music all have a rent-to-own program where all the money you put into the instrument goes toward ownership.

  • Mr. Baumgartner and Ms. Garcia can help your student choose an instrument. You can also watch videos of interviews with student players to help.
